Volunteer!

There are so many ways to serve at St. Stephen’s. Here are just a few ways you can be involved!

Rides for the Chauhan Family

The Bhutanese family sponsored by St. Stephen’s is eager to be with us in worship but needs rides. It takes two vehicles to carry ten people. If you can help with an occasional trip, talk to a pastor.

The Road Home

Helping the Homeless

Members of St. Stephen’s participate as a buddy congregation with Lake Edge UCC in the Road Home Homeless Shelter. Around four times a year, we are asked to help at the church by providing a supper, interaction with children and adults, supervision and serving breakfast.

Ride to 8:00 a.m. Worship

From Monona Hills

Two to three members live next door at Monona Hills but have no ride to worship. Would you be willing to pick them up for the 8:00 service?

Share Your Assets!

Coffee Hosts Needed

Brewing a few pots of coffee and putting out some cookies makes an enormous difference for the fellowship of St. Stephen’s. Can you help share this important responsibility? We’re looking to increase our list of 8:00 and 10:00 Fellowship Hosts! Call Jane in the church office.

Music Opportunities

Come Join Us!

One of the many ways of giving to the church is to share your time and talents. Please consider being a part of music ministry at St. Stephen’s by joining a choir, cantoring or playing an instrument. Speak to either Dennis Douglas (douglas.ststephens@tds.net) or Rebecca Redmann.

Communion Bread

If you would like to bake bread for communion, please call the church office at 222-1241. Guys are invited to bake Communion bread also!

Oakwood East

Help in Worship!

Oakwood Village East worships at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays. As their population ages, they need help with ushering and also helping people in wheelchairs make it to worship. St. Stephen’s would like to have a few people there once a month. Are you interested? (Service credit for confirmation, too.)

Kids Need You!

Nursery Helpers

We need staffers! During these busy times at St. Stephen’s there are many gaps for nursery attendants. Would you please help? Contact the church office at 222-1241. Thanks!

Join an Emerging Worship Team!

There are may ways you can help with our new third communion service, from hospitality to set up, from worship leadership to decorating. See the sign-up posters or contact Chris Gantz to be part of something new!

· Hospitality: set up beverages & treats

· Communion Assistant: setup bread & wine, assist in serving communion

· Greeter/Usher: greet people, offer assistance, collect offering

· Lector: read scripture

Ushers

There are spots available for ushers on two usher teams; one who usually serves at 8:00 and one at 10:00, each about once a month. (Training will be provided.) Call the church office at 222-1241.
