Prayer Vigil for Peace & Justice 20th Day of Every Month On the 20th day of the month, no matter which day of the week, every month of the year, we gather for a prayer vigil for peace and justice in the Middle East. The format is simple: the lighting of candles, song, readings and prayer. The vigil meets in Koinonia Place from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. This year several special events are planned in conjunction with the vigils featuring films, guests and meals. |

Soup for Schools Lutheran schools in Palestine provide amazing ministries of education, health and sanctuary from the chaos of violence for children in kindergarten through grade twelve. Through our “Soup for Schools” groups, St. Stephen’s people come together monthly for a delightful meal, and socializing. With their $5 per month contribution, they are presently providing tuition for children in the West Bank. Talk to a pastor if you’d like to be part of a group. |

Augusta Victoria Hospital Our generous financial support for the “poor fund” of Augusta Victoria Hospital makes health care possible for Palestinian refugees and villagers who have no other health care options. |

The Road Home Helping the Homeless Members of St. Stephen’s participates as a buddy congregation with Lake Edge UCC in the Road Home Homeless Shelter. Around four times a year, we are asked to help at the church by providing a supper, interaction with children and adults, supervision and serving breakfast.

Midwife Kits Ready to Pack our Midwife Kits! In order to complete our goal of 80 Midwife Kits, we could use your help in providing more towels (bath size, thinner type preferred) and baby shirts/Onesies (size newborn or small). These items may be new or used in good condition without stains. Or, cash donations will be used to purchase the items we are missing. Checks should be made to St. Stephen’s; please use designated envelopes near the display.
Special Delivery/Ladies’ Road Trip! Plans are being finalized for our road trip to the Twin Cities on April 22 & 23. We plan to leave on Thurs., April 22 at 4 p.m. from church, stopping for dinner at the Norske Nook in Osseo on our way to Luther Seminary. We will stay in Stub Hall (cost $20 per person in a double room, linens provided) overnight, followed by breakfast at the Olson Campus Ctr. We will have a tour of the seminary, followed by chapel service at 10. We will then spend the rest of our day at Global Health Ministries, where we will deliver our midwife kits, have a tour of their warehouse, and volunteer (evaluating and preparing midwife and hospice kits and hospital linens). We will drive back to Madison that evening. All women from the congregation are invited! So that we may finalize housing and driving arrangements, the deadline for registering will be March 16. |
