Summer Choir

Come Join Us, Sunday, August 22

Summer Choir will sing on Sunday, August 22nd at the 10:00 a.m. service. We will rehearse at 9:30 a.m. in Fireside Room. Everyone is welcome. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to sing together—parents, children, grandparents, uncles, strange cousins—age and ability does not matter. Invite someone to sing!

Youth & Adults

As youth mature and grow into faithful members of the church, they continue to have opportunities to serve through vocal and instrumental groups. All of these groups participate regularly in worship throughout the year.

Adult Choir

The cornerstone of our music ministry, the Sanctuary Choir meets weekly on Wednesday evenings, 7:30-9:00 p.m., September through May, providing inspiring musical leadership for Sunday worship, usually at 10:00 a.m.

Soloists/Vocal Ensembles

Too busy for weekly choir rehearsals? Consider sharing your talent as a  soloist, or as part of a small group.

Instrumentalists

If you play an instrument consider sharing your talent in worship.

Summer Choirs

This choir sings one Sunday a month, June, July and August, usually at 10:00 a.m. Dates are announced in advance. Simply show up for the rehearsal 30 minutes prior to the service. We also have a pick-up choir for our BBQ & Soul Food services. Music is simple, meaningful, and enjoyable.

Cantors

Assist by leading the congregation in singing parts of the liturgy, usually the Psalms.

Handbell Choir

Called the GosBells, this energetic, lively group rehearses Wednesday evenings, 6:00 - 7:15 p.m. in the sanctuary September through May and plays regularly in worship.

Brass Ensemble

This group of brass players typically plays for the festival liturgies of Easter, Christmas, All Saints Sunday and Reformation Sunday. Trumpets, trombones, baritone, French horn and tuba all play.

Steadfast

Our Christian rock band, provides the music and leadership for Emerging Worship, a weekly Sunday Communion worship service.  It all begins with gathering music and fellowship at 11:00 a.m. and includes pastoral reflection, Holy Communion and contemporary Christian rock. Click for more information about Emerging Worship.

Children

Group opportunities encourage the young to be involved in the service-oriented aspect of the church and encourage life-long commitment. They also provide a pool of peers  fostering friendship and a sense of acceptance into the larger "Family of God." At St. Stephen's we encourage all children to participate in programs designed to build their self-esteem and musical abilities, and broaden their faith.

Handchime Choir

Grades Three & Up

Handchimes rehearses Sunday mornings at 11:15 a.m. Kids learn the basics of reading music and ringing Handchimes using age appropriate music and exercises. No music experience is necessary. All children are welcome to join!

Sunday School Singers

Grades preschool through fifth

Students learn new songs to sing each Sunday during Sunday school, then share some of the songs in worship.
