St. Stephen’s Foundation

St. Stephen’s Foundation was organized in 1982 to help members of the church and others provide support for long-term projects and programs.

 

Past projects have included:

· annual scholarships for post-secondary education

· design and construction of our pipe organ

· sponsorship of youth mission trip participants

· seminary scholarships

 

Giving a gift to St. Stephen’s Foundation is simple. 

Anyone may contribute by donating:

· stocks

· bonds

· cash

· other assets, including securities or real estate

 

When you give a gift, you may:

· contribute to any existing funds

· create a new fund (with approval of the Board of Trustees)

· support an Endowment Fund, which spends only earnings from the principal

· designate a purpose to support with principal and earnings

· make an undesignated gift, to be used as needs or new projects arise

 

The St. Stephen’s Foundation Board of Trustees takes great care to create a balanced Investment Policy that sets broad objectives, allocation benchmarks, and investment strategies that keep with the fiduciary duties of the Board.  Trustees are elected from the membership of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church and meet quarterly.

College Scholarships

Scholarships Available

Trustees of St. Stephen’s Foundation announce the availability of college scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year. Scholarships up to $500 each in value for general undergraduate degrees and undergraduate degrees in agriculture, life sciences or medical fields to qualifying students. Students who previously applied and/or received scholarships may reapply.

 

Application forms are available in the church office. Letters from references are required, so pick up your application early to allow enough time to complete them. To be considered, the completed forms must be returned to the church office or to one of the Foundation Trustees no later than April 30. Students selected to receive scholarships will be presented checks in a worship service in June.

 

While anyone who will be enrolled in college or technical school for the 2010-2011 academic year may apply, the Trustees especially encourage all St. Stephen’s members in this group to make application.

The following individuals were elected as Foundation Trustees at the January 31, 2010, Foundation Annual Meeting:
