Prayer

Praying for Peace
Monthly Prayer Vigil for Peace-20th Day
On the 20th day of every month, we especially dedicate ourselves to concerns of Peace and Justice in the Middle East. From 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. we share beautiful peace songs, light candles of vigil, pray, and hear reflections on current events focusing on Christians in the Holy Land, as well as volatility of conflicts and war in the region. Sometimes videos and Mediterranean food become part of our focus as well.

One-On-One Prayers in Worship
5th Sunday
On the fifth Sunday of the month (whenever that occurs), one-on-one prayers are part of our worship services. It is the chance to be anointed as a sign of God's healing and wholeness in response to physical, mental, and relational illnesses we and others face; or to give thanks for a special blessing!

Prayer Chain
A dedicated group is very concerned about you. If you have needs/requests to share with the Prayer Chain, contact the church office, 608-222-1241

Tuesday Staff Prayers
Your staff at St. Stephen's gathers for devotions and prayer each Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. We pray for a segment of the congregation and for other concerns. We would love to have you join us for this time of prayer. If you have any prayer requests, talk to a staff member.

Thursday Morning Prayer
8:00 a.m.
Ecumenical is a word that refers to a big house that all kinds of Christians really dwell under the same roof of God's blessing! Thursday mornings each week we host an ecumenical prayer gathering. A half hour of song, reflection, and prayer (8:00 to 8:30 a.m.) is followed by coffee and treats. In addition to Lutherans, you may regularly expect to find Methodists, Catholics, Moravians, Presbyterians, and others in the circle with you!

Ecumenical Morning Prayer
Thursday Mornings at 8:00 a.m.
The service of Morning Prayer is offered every Thursday, 8:00-8:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. All who wish to attend are welcome.

In January 2012, we were fortunate to be joined by Pr. Rafael Cubilette's mother (front, center) during her visit from the Dominican Republic. Pr. Cubilette, an active participant in Morning Prayer, serves at Monona United Methodist Church and is deeply involved in ministry with the Hispanic community.
