Augusta Victoria Hospital
On the Mount of Olives
Augusta Victoria HospitalOur generous financial support for the “poor fund” of Augusta Victoria Hospital makes health care possible for Palestinian refugees and villagers who have no other health care options.

Soup for Schools
Scholarships for Lutheran Schools in Palestine
Lutheran schools in Palestine provide amazing ministries of education, health and sanctuary from the chaos of violence for children in kindergarten through grade twelve. Through our “Soup for Schools” groups, St. Stephen’s people come together monthly for a delightful meal, and socializing. With their $5 per month contribution, they are presently providing tuition for children in the West Bank. Talk to a pastor if you’d like to be part of a group.

Bhutanese Refugee Family
ChauhanSt. Stephen’s helped welcome the Chauhan family in 2010. Pictured here are Thagi and Sarswati. The family also includes father Bal Chandra and daughters Geeta, Arati, Parbati, Laxmi and Sangeeta. This Bhutanese family had lived in a refugee camp in Nepal and Lutheran Social Services helped them (and many others) arrive in the United States. We helped furnish their apartment and have been easing adjustments to this new life.
Rides to Worship: Currently among the biggest supports and needs for this family are rides to worship. Any number of seats you have available is helpful.

Monona Muchies
Providing Summer Lunches
During the school year, 33% of Winnequah kids receive free and reduced school lunches.  Monona Munchies was developed to make sure that those same families didn’t spend the summer hungry.  Together with IHM and community volunteers, we served over 800 meals to hungry kids and families at the Schaefer Park Shelters behind Winnequah Elementary this summer.  A wonderful ministry of outreach and caring in our community.
