Winter Farmers' Market and Brunch
February 8
On Sunday morning, February 8, St. Stephen’s is hosting our 2nd annual Winter Farmers’ Market and Brunch through the Churches’ Center for Land and People! You’ll find many vendors with root vegetables, canned goods, soaps, crafts, pickles, and much more. We’ll also be serving a brunch of amazing local produce and more. Tickets available soon! Talk to Pastor Nick if you’d be able to help.

Ash Wednesday
On February 18, we begin the season of Lent with worship services at noon and 6:45 pm. Ash Wednesday is a solemn day, paying attention to our sin and death’s grip on us. We are marked with a cross of ashes, remembering words from Genesis 3: “You are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Lent is a season of repentance, based in the Greek word metanoia, meaning a renewal of mind, of turning our lives from what has taken us away from God and each other and striving to live rightly.

Lenten Worship
Following Ash Wednesday, throughout the season of Lent we gather on Wednesdays for special programming. Our theme for midweek worship (besides returning to Holden Evening Prayer) will be based around the hymn O Blessed Spring (ELW #447), which looks at the stages of life, from birth to old age. Much like “I Was There to Hear Your Borning Cry” by John Ylvisaker, “O Blessed Spring” is an honest portrayal of the discovery of God’s presence through every season of our life.  Also, come and join us for this stroll through Lent on Wednesdays at noon and 6:45 pm.  Lenten suppers begin at 5:30 in Agape Place too! Watch soon for the new book for midweek conversations!

Winter Farmers Market & Brunch
Sunday, February 8th
Market: 9:00am-12:30pm;  Brunch: 9:00am & 11:00am

Tickets: $10/adult, $5/children under 12, $30/family of 4 or more. (If you’d like to purchase your ticket(s) in advance, please contact the office!)
Coffee, apple butter, wool, meat, cheese, baking mixes, produce, preserves, farmstead soap, sauces, cookies, krauts, syrups, knits, and more. Brunch will be served using items sourced from participating vendors and other local producers! The Winter Farmers Market & Brunch, hosted by First United Methodist Church, is sponsored by Markets & Meals for Hope, a joint project of Churches Center for Land & People, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, & the Harvest of Hope Farm Crisis Fund of the Madison Christian Community, a United Church of Christ and Lutheran ministry helping family farmers since the 1980 farm crisis.

Mom's Night Out
Next Moms' Night Out: Sunday, February 22
Calling all Moms! MNO is a “come when you can” group. We know you’re busy! We hold it every month so you can join us when you’re able—when it fits into your family’s schedule. Come, have a meal, have a laugh, and get to know other St. Stephen’s moms. This month we’ll gather at The Free House Pub on Parmenter Street in Middleton. I have changed the date from our usual third Sunday of the month to Sunday, February 22nd at 6:00 to avoid any conflicts with Valentine’s Day weekend. (Like that’s going to happen when you have small kids, right?!?!) RSVP by texting Paige at 608-317-9310 so I know how many people to make the reservation for!
