Winter Farmers' Market
On Sunday morning, February 8, St. Stephen’s is hosting our
2nd annual Winter Farmers’ Market and Brunch through the
Churches’ Center for Land and People! You’ll find many
vendors with root vegetables, canned goods, soaps, crafts,
pickles, and much more. We’ll also be serving a brunch of
amazing local produce and more. Tickets available soon! Talk
to Pastor Nick if you’d be able to help.
On February 18, we begin the season of Lent with worship
services at noon and 6:45 pm. Ash Wednesday is a solemn day,
paying attention to our sin and death’s grip on us. We are
marked with a cross of ashes, remembering words from Genesis
3: “You are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Lent is a
season of repentance, based in the Greek word metanoia,
meaning a renewal of mind, of turning our lives from what
has taken us away from God and each other and striving to
Following Ash Wednesday, throughout the season of Lent we
gather on Wednesdays for special programming. Our theme for
midweek worship (besides returning to Holden Evening Prayer)
will be based around the hymn O Blessed Spring (ELW #447),
which looks at the stages of life, from birth to old age.
Much like “I Was There to Hear Your Borning Cry” by John
Ylvisaker, “O Blessed Spring” is an honest portrayal of the
discovery of God’s presence through every season of our
life. Also, come and join us for this stroll through Lent
on Wednesdays at noon and 6:45 pm. Lenten suppers begin at
5:30 in Agape Place too! Watch soon for the new book for
