Share Your Musical Gifts
Music Rehearsals Have Resumed On
From 5:00-5:45 kids from 4k to grade 1 are invited for
Joyful Noise, to explore rhythm, melody, hand chimes and
other music-making and music-listening (parents and older
siblings welcome!) At 6:00, any interested handbell ringers
meet to kick start a new year of GosBells. No experience is
needed, though some music-reading is a plus! Finally, at
7:00 the Sanctuary Choir gathers to lift their voices
together in song. If you are interested in joining or
learning more, contact Rebecca at email@example.com.
Training for Assisting Ministers & Deacons
On February 7th at 9:10, there will be an interactive
training and introduction to the roles of Assisting Minister
and Deacon. Please let Rebecca or Pastor Kathy know if you
are willing to serve in this way (even if you can’t join us
on the 7th). During our transition time, an additional Deacon
will be needed at 8 and 10 each Sunday.
Lent: Prayers Rising
Lent begins on February 10th, Ash Wednesday. Under the
theme “Prayers Rising,” each Wednesday (2/10 – 2-16) we
invite you to these opportunities at St. Stephen’s:
9 a.m.: Bible Study in Agape Annex
Noon: Individual Silent Meditation in the Sanctuary
(Simple Imposition of Ashes station on 2/10)
1 p.m.: Prayer Walk (and talk) with Pastor Kathy
5:00 p.m.: Joyful Noise (Sanctuary)
5:00 p.m.: Scripture Focused Prayer Practice
Find a simple form of prayer in the “Upper Room”
5:30 p.m.: Simple Soup Supper
6:15 p.m.: Worship (Holy Communion on 2/10)
7:00 p.m.: Choir
Praying and breathing, eating
and drinking, singing and worshiping, forgiving and
reconciling, serving and seeking justice, dying and
grieving. As people of faith, these are practices we share

March 12 in Janesville
“Stories From the Heart” is our theme for Saturday, March 12
at First Lutheran Church in Janesville. The event will
feature an engaging conversation on Issues of Racism with
Bishop Mary Froiland and the Rev. Everett Mitchell, Senior
Pastor of Christ the Solid Rock in Madison. It will run from
8:30 to 3:30. Watch for a sign-up sheet to register in
