Calling Pastor Elisa Brandt
Pastor Elisa Brandt has been called to serve as senior pastor here at St. Stephen’s. Congregational members gathered January 7th to meet Pastor Elisa and her family, learn more about her from the Call Committee, and consider if she should be called. The ‘yes’ vote was unanimous and enthusiastic!

Pastor Elisa will start at St. Stephen’s on February 21st. Her first Sunday preaching will be February 26th. Bishop Froiland is tentatively scheduled to formally install Pastor Elisa on Sunday, March 26th.

Welcome Pastor Elisa and her husband David and daughters Sophia and Greta!

Annual Meeting January 29th, 2017
This meeting will follow our pattern of being held in the Sanctuary @ 10:15. A budget and program forum will be held on January 22nd @ 10:15.

Save the Date
Pastor Elisa Brandt will be installed at St. Stephen’s by Bishop Mary Froiland on Sunday, March 26. More details to come.

No Sunday School January 29th
There will not be Sunday school on January 29 so that Sunday school teachers are able to attend our congregational meeting.

Sunday Adult Education
On January 22, and 29, there will congregational meetings— reviewing the annual financial report (1/22), and the Annual Meeting (1/29). We're also in the planning stages for some exciting programs for February and beyond.

Adult Education for February
Exploring the topic of race as it impacts well-being and racial disparities in Dane County—learning about what we don’t know—will be the adult education hour focus for February.
February 5 will get us started with a look at the Gospel and beginning a conversation about race and relationships.
February 12 will be an introduction to white privilege and the hidden power of race in our community.
February 19 will look at the data gathered by the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families in their 2014 report.
February 26 will wrap up our study as we discuss what God might be calling us to do individually and as a congregation. Please join in this discussion for the entire month or come as you are able. Mary Nervig and Adam Lohrmann will lead the discussion.

Rehearsals Have Resumed
Wednesday rehearsals for GosBells and the Sanctuary Choir have resumed. Both groups meet in the Sanctuary, with the bells from 6:00-6:55 and the choir from 7:00-8:30. There is no experience required to join either group, though a bit of music-reading makes playing the handbells somewhat easier. Please speak to Rebecca (Rebecca@ststlc.net) if you are interested in either ensemble—or just show up at rehearsal!

Woodworker Needed!
We need someone with woodworking skills to build a kiosk for our name badges. Contact Glenn Nielsen (glennnielsen49@gmail.com) for more information.
