Music Rehearsals Have Resumed On Wednesdays
From 5:00-5:45 kids from 4k to grade 1 are invited for Joyful Noise, to explore rhythm, melody, hand chimes and other music-making and music-listening (parents and older siblings welcome!)  At 6:00, any interested handbell ringers meet to kick start a new year of GosBells.  No experience is needed, though some music-reading is a plus!  Finally, at 7:00 the Sanctuary Choir gathers to lift their voices together in song.  If you are interested in joining or learning more, contact Rebecca at music@ststlc.net.

Training for Assisting Ministers & Deacons
On February 7th at 9:10, there will be an interactive training and introduction to the roles of Assisting Minister and Deacon. Please let Rebecca or Pastor Kathy know if you are willing to serve in this way (even if you can’t join us on the 7th). During our transition time, an additional Deacon will be needed at 8 and 10 each Sunday.

Lent: Prayers Rising
Lent begins on February 10th, Ash Wednesday.  Under the theme “Prayers Rising,” each Wednesday (2/10 – 2-16) we invite you to these opportunities at St. Stephen’s:

Noon:  Individual Silent Meditation in the Sanctuary
(Simple Imposition of Ashes station on 2/10)
1 p.m.:  Prayer Walk (and talk) with Pastor Kathy
5:00 p.m.: Joyful Noise (Sanctuary)
5:00 p.m.: Scripture Focused Prayer Practice
Find a simple form of prayer in the “Upper Room”
                (Education Wing)
5:30 p.m.: Simple Soup Supper
6:15 p.m.: Worship (Holy Communion on 2/10)
7:00 p.m.:  Choir

Praying and breathing, eating and drinking, singing and worshiping, forgiving and reconciling, serving and seeking justice, dying and grieving. As people of faith, these are practices we share  Each year as the days begin to lengthen, followers of Christ add devotional times to re-center. These opportunities help us to re-orient ourselves and our faith communities as we prepare to celebrate the Festival of the Resurrection.

“Blanket of Prayer”
Each Sunday and throughout the week, your prayer requests will be received and shared. Let the office know if you are willing to prayerfully intercede, during Lent, for the needs of others!

This transition time is the perfect opportunity for St. Stephen’s to ‘get its house in order’, so to speak. An essential part of the call process is preparing the congregation for its new pastor. The Transition Team began that process. Now is the time to build on the team’s work and take the next steps.  Click here for more information.
