Call Committee Update:
Sunday, August 28 at 10:00 am
Do we have a Mission Statement? If so, how does it guide and
govern our work together? What is your congregation excited
about right now? List three ways the community in which you
are located has been challenged by change or transition in
the last five years...
These and dozens of other questions have been the topic of
many meetings over the summer. The work of the Call
Commit-tee includes creating an accurate picture of the
congregation, our history, our dreams, our context.
Anticipating submitting our “Ministry Site Profile” in
August, come to hear what questions were difficult to fill
out and how St. Stephen’s will be presented to candidates.
Keep the Call Committee in your prayers as they prepare to
enter the interview phase, and contact them with your hopes
and dreams for ministry at St. Stephen’s! They are Steve
Sullivan, Luke Martz, Kat Pluff, Connie Kilmark, Ken Koscik,
Mari Mitchell, and Jon Robelia.
Yoga: Monday and
Join us for Yoga Mondays at 7:00 pm and
Wednesdays at 10:30 am. Suggested donation is $10. Join in stretching, flexing, relaxing, and feeling good.

especially encouraged to attend. This is designed as a
family workshop, so older and younger siblings are welcome
and encouraged to participate. At St. Stephen’s, we are

More Repacking Tools?
Conversation Sunday, August 21, 10:30 am
Were you unable to attend the Repacking event on July 17th?
If you attended, did you have questions which time did not
permit us to address? While one-to-one conversations
continue in our community, there was some healing power we
experienced by exploring our feelings and questions
together. On August 21, you are invited to
review the taped presentation on the topic of Forgiveness
offered by Mae Jean Zelle at the event in July. Conversation
will follow. Plan your worship schedule accordingly, grab a
cup of coffee, and come!
Blessing of the Backpacks
Sunday, September 11th
School will already be in full swing, but don’t let that
stop you from bringing your backpack into church on Sunday,
the 11th, for a blessing! Parents—this is a great
opportunity for you to help your children understand that
God is with them no matter where they are! At home, at
school, on the sports field, at daycare, riding the bus, and
even at church! J We’ll also demonstrate one (or maybe
more!) ways to bless each other each day as you leave the
house for your daily activities. Mark your calendars to be
there. Let the congregation bless you and send you forth
into a new school year, feeling the love and support from
your church family!
